✦ MADE SIMPLE

On top of everything else, Manasseh killed many innocent people until Jerusalem was filled with bloodshed from one end of the city to the other. This was in addition to the sin he caused Judah to commit by doing what was evil in God's eyes.

⚡ THE BOTTOM LINE

This verse describes how King Manasseh not only committed terrible acts of violence against innocent people, but also led his entire nation into sin and rebellion against God.

📚 Historical Context

Manasseh ruled the southern kingdom of Judah for 55 years (697-642 BC), the longest reign of any king of Judah. He reversed the religious reforms of his father Hezekiah and brought back pagan worship practices, including child sacrifice. Jewish tradition suggests he may have been responsible for the martyrdom of the prophet Isaiah.
